Feeling tired and worn out; like it’s time to make a change? If you are like so many of us, you likely aren’t living the healthiest lifestyle you truly can. The good news is you can make small changes here and there to turn things around.
Stop Dieting
Science has proven “diets” fail more often than they result in long-term, maintainable weight loss. For a truly healthy lifestyle, simply stop dieting and start making better everyday choices. Eat more fruits and vegetables, pick brightly colored foods that are rich in antioxidants, and and start cutting processed foods (including fast food) out of your meals.
Drink More Water
Your body is 60% water and that water is needed to support daily functions. We lose water every single day, so drinking enough to replace it makes a huge difference to the way we feel. The amount you need will vary depending on where you live, how much you exercise, and your current weight. Talk to your doctor if you aren’t sure how much you need. As a rule of thumb, though, your urine should be a very pale yellow or almost colorless to show you are properly hydrated.
Assess Your Mood
Are you usually in a good mood? Do you have a good energy level? Are you always tired even though you sleep enough? Are you struggling with anxiety or depression? It may be time to talk to recharge yourself mentally and emotionally, even if that means talking to a doctor or counselor for help identifying the root causes (physical or not).
Surround Yourself with Positive People
Negativity breeds more negativity. Make sure the people you are hanging out with are on the same spiritual level you are. Join a meetup group, church group, or interest group (like a book club) to meet people who are like-minded and have a positive spin on life. Start weeding out the negative-Nellies. They’re just dragging you down!
