Me-time allows you to take a moment for yourself and destress from the hectic days you’re experiencing. There are at least three times throughout the week you can take this time to relax. One of them includes bedtime. It doesn’t refer to the act of going to bed, but rather the routine you set each night before you drift off to sleep. Take a bath each night, watch a show, or otherwise find something to do to help you relax and get ready for slumber.
A lunch break is another great opportunity to take time for yourself. Most people get lunch breaks at work, whether they’re only 30 minutes or a full hour. Take this opportunity to catch up on emails, scroll through Facebook, or sit and read a book, all while you enjoy a meal. It’s a great way to recharge in the middle of the day so you can pick back up for the rest of your shift.
Make your morning routine involve some me-time as well. You may not get much of a chance throughout the day except a short lunch break, and not again until bedtime. Wake up a little early in the morning and work out, go for a walk, or just sit with the newspaper and cup of coffee. Start your day out right and you’ll have a much better attitude throughout the remainder of it.
